Disney Taps Character.AI Alum Karandeep Anand as Chief Technology Officer

Disney has appointed Karandeep Anand as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO), reporting directly to CEO Josh D'Amaro. Anand, former CEO of Character.AI, joins Disney after a year-long dispute over copyright infringement allegations.

Anand brings extensive experience in infrastructure, consumer technology, and AI to the role, having previously held senior positions at Facebook and Microsoft. He will oversee enterprise technology, AI platforms, and engineering across Disney's business segments, with a focus on further modernizing its technology capabilities.

D'Amaro praised Anand's unique blend of technical expertise and creative vision, saying he is an 'expert builder and strategist' who understands the intersection of technology and creativity.
