Disney Taps Character.AI CEO for Top Tech Role
The Walt Disney Company has appointed Karandeep Anand as its new Chief Technology Officer. Effective October 2, Anand will oversee enterprise technology, infrastructure, data and AI platforms, product, and engineering for the company.
Anand brings a rare mix of experience across infrastructure, consumer technology, and AI to his new role. He most recently served as CEO of Character.AI, where he led the company through a period of explosive growth, building one of the most engaged consumer-AI audiences in the world.
Disney Chief Executive Officer Josh D'Amaro said Anand's expertise will be vital in furthering Disney's technology strategy and strengthening its ability to serve fans worldwide. 'Karandeep brings a rare mix of experience across infrastructure, consumer technology, and AI,' D'Amaro said.
