Disney Taps Character.AI CEO to Lead Tech Operations

The Walt Disney Company has appointed Karandeep Anand as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, a newly created role that will oversee the company's technology operations, infrastructure, data, and artificial intelligence platforms.

Anand will join Disney on October 2 and report directly to Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro. He most recently served as CEO of Character.AI, where he led the consumer artificial intelligence platform through a period of rapid growth.

D'Amaro said: 'Karandeep brings a rare mix of experience across infrastructure, consumer technology, and AI, and will be a vital addition to Disney's senior leadership team as we further our three priorities.'
