Disney Taps Melissa Stone as Senior VP of Publicity

Melissa Stone has been appointed as the Senior Vice President of Publicity for The Walt Disney Studios. This new role will see her lead the publicity team and oversee global PR strategy across all Disney's theatrical and streaming portfolios.

Stone brings over a decade of experience in the industry, having previously worked at Fox and Disney. She has led global campaigns for major franchises such as Avatar: The Way of Water, Lilo & Stitch, and The Little Mermaid, as well as Disney+ and Hulu titles including Lucasfilm's Emmy-winning Andor.

Reporting to President of Studios Marketing Martha Morrison, Stone will oversee publicity across various studio divisions, including Disney Live Action, Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century Studios. Her appointment is seen as a significant step in the company's efforts to drive audience engagement and cultural impact.
