Disney Taps TikTok Community for Creator Content
The Walt Disney Company has partnered with TikTok to create a new content program that will bring creator videos directly from TikTok to Disney's short-form vertical video feed, Verts. The pilot program is set to launch in the US this month and will give creators access to materials from hundreds of films and series owned by Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, FX, and other brands.
As part of the agreement, top-performing creators can expect greater visibility, access to exclusive events, and professional development opportunities through the Disney Creator Ambassador Program. However, it's unclear what financial compensation or revenue-sharing model will be in place for creators participating in the program.
The partnership aims to tap into the creativity of the TikTok community, with Asad Ayaz, Chief Marketing and Brand Officer at The Walt Disney Company, stating that 'the best storytellers are fans first.'
