The Pokémon Company International and British animation studio Aardman are teaming up to create an animated series, and Disney has been chosen as its international distributor. The series, titled 'Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu', is set in the Galar region and follows the misadventures of the titular Pokémon duo as they protect wayward Pokémon.

The show will be produced in Aardman's signature stop-motion style, which has been successful with franchises like 'Chicken Run', 'Wallace & Gromit', and 'Shaun the Sheep'. Director Tom Parkinson described the series as a 'funny, heartfelt odd-couple story' that combines Sirfetch’d's noble but bumbling energy with Pichu's playful and curious nature.

The announcement of the series was first made in 2024, when The Pokémon Company International and Aardman revealed their collaboration. However, this is the first time the concept has been fully revealed, including Disney's role as distributor. The series is set to debut on Disney XD and Disney+ in 2027.
