Disney Teams with Netflix in Major Content Licensing Deal
Disney has shaken up its streaming strategy with a massive content licensing agreement with Netflix. The deal brings a wide range of Disney library titles and current-season TV shows to Netflix on a nonexclusive basis, marking a significant shift for both companies in the ever-changing entertainment landscape.
The partnership will make select Disney movies and TV shows available on Netflix, including the first two seasons of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which will debut on October 4th. The show's third season will continue to air exclusively on Disney+, starting November 20th.
Disney also has a large collection of other titles in store for Netflix, including five Ice Age movies from 20th Century Studios. Seasons 1-4 of Will Trent, the first two seasons of Shifting Gears, and Tracker's first three seasons will be available internationally outside of the USA between November and February.
