Disney Tears Down Das Kaufhaus Roof at EPCOT's Germany Pavilion

Disney's Germany Pavilion at EPCOT is currently undergoing an exterior refurbishment of its Das Kaufhaus roof, which will completely change the pavilion's skyline.

The work began with crews stripping and rebuilding the steep red and burgundy shingle roof, starting on both sides of the building but moving faster on the east side. The west side still retains parts of its original patterned finish, while the exposed dark underlayment is visible in areas where the old shingles have been removed.

The pavilion remains open during the project, allowing guests to continue shopping and browsing at Das Kaufhaus even as work proceeds overhead.
