Disney Tests Abandoned Fireworks Launch Site at Hollywood Studios

Disney's Hollywood Studios recently conducted a test of its abandoned fireworks launch site. The test was discovered by social media users who captured video of fireworks going off every few minutes at the park.

The launches seem to be coming from a large site off World Drive, which was constructed in 2016 for Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular. The show ceased performances in 2020 and the launch site hasn't been used since.

The test could be for an upcoming fireworks performance at the park. Disney has several events that may require the use of this launch site, including Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! during Disney Jollywood Nights and the New Year's Eve Fireworks display. It also possible that the test is for a brand-new nighttime spectacular.

Disney hasn't made any announcements about a new show, leaving speculation about the purpose of the test.
