Disney Tightens Transportation Rules Amid Widespread Disruptions

Walt Disney World's transportation network has been experiencing disruptions and changes in recent weeks. The resort's buses, boats, and Skyliner system have all been affected. One of the most significant changes is the new rule limiting who can board transportation from Disney Springs.

Starting June 28, guests using buses or water transportation from Disney Springs toward Disney Resort hotels must show proof that they qualify. This can be done by showing a valid Disney Resort hotel stay or a reservation for dining or an experience at a resort. Off-site visitors who previously used Disney Springs as a starting point for resort hopping are now affected.

The change is a significant planning shift for guests familiar with the old system. The water transportation network has also been experiencing issues, including a recent maintenance period at the FriendShip boat dock serving Disney's Yacht Club Resort and Beach Club Resort.

The Disney Skyliner system has faced its own challenges, including a loading issue in August that caused lengthy delays and lines. Disney has since filed a construction permit for the Hollywood Studios Skyliner station, but it is unclear whether this project is related to the recent operational issues.
