Hyperscalers are companies that own and operate massive data centers, capable of processing vast amounts of digital data. These facilities are often used for artificial intelligence work and can draw hundreds of megawatts of electricity.

The three largest hyperscaler companies are Amazon, Alphabet's Google, and Microsoft, which collectively control 63% of the public cloud market. They offer remote access to their data center infrastructure, making it easier for companies to use without building their own.

A few other notable hyperscalers include Meta Platforms, Oracle, Apple, Alibaba, and Baidu. While these companies may not have as many hyperscale facilities as Amazon, Google, or Microsoft, the ones they do operate are often massive in scale.
