Disney Unveils Alien Swirling Saucers Ride Overlay at Hollywood Studios
Disney's Hollywood Studios is getting a new ride overlay in September 2026. 'Alien Swirling Saucers: Lilypad's Jams' will debut on Friday, September 25, replacing the current ride in Toy Story Land. The ride will feature DJ Lilypad, a frog-shaped smart tablet from Toy Story 5, who will connect friends and bring toys together for an all-new soundtrack.
The new soundtrack will include reimagined Toy Story classics and brand-new songs written just for this attraction. Imagineers took to Nashville to record the music with world-class musicians, covering genres such as pop, country, EDM, and alt-rock. 'We wanted to think about the music in a completely new way,' said Thomas Niederhiser, Senior Creative Producer at Walt Disney Imagineering.
The ride overlay is part of an effort to keep the parks fresh via the little things. As described by Walt Disney World, it's aimed more firmly at fans, Annual Passholders, and Disney Vacation Club Members. This approach has been successful in other areas, such as the Magic of Disney Animation.
