Disney Unveils Avatar Ride Vehicle Model for California Adventure

The highly anticipated Avatar experience is coming to Disney California Adventure, and Walt Disney Imagineering has provided a model that gives us our first look at the ride vehicle.

The model shows a mountainous scene with a large waterfall flowing down the middle. A maquette of the ride vehicle reveals it will be similar to other boat rides at Disney parks, with six rows seating between four and five guests each.

The Avatar experience was confirmed for California in 2023's earnings call and further detailed at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in 2024. To accommodate this new attraction, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will remain open until 2027, catering to younger families with limited offerings at the park.
