Disney Unveils Carousel of Progress Makeover Details
The Disney Experiences pavilion returned to D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim, California from August 14th-16th. This year's event featured a sneak peek at the Imagineering: Horizons exhibit, which showcases the progress being made to shape the Disney parks around the world.
One of the most exciting announcements came from Carousel of Progress, which is getting a major makeover. The ride's retheme will feature four acts, each taking place in a different decade: the 1960s, 1980s, 1999, and an unspecified future date.
The Imagineers have already shown off some of the costumes and design elements for Act 1, which is set in the 1960s. The outfits and home decor are clearly inspired by the decade's iconic style. Additionally, the stage will change significantly between acts, a departure from the previous version where the kitchen remained largely unchanged.
The Imagineers have also hinted at some of the changes coming to the ride, but many details remain under wraps for now. As the event continues, Disney fans can expect more updates and announcements about the retheme and other upcoming projects.
