Disney Unveils First Look at Lakeshore Lodge Resort Ahead of Summer Opening
Disney has unveiled a first look at its upcoming Disney Lakeshore Lodge resort, which is set to open next summer. The resort's lobby will feature floor-to-ceiling windows framing views of The Wetlands, an outdoor recreation area. Inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios' Pocahontas, the design blends natural materials and artwork with the surrounding flora and fauna.
The lobby will include a fiberoptic river running across the floor, a blown glass sculpture inspired by 'Colors of the Wind,' and custom tapestries based on the film's landscapes. The resort will also feature three dining venues: Moonglade, a table-service restaurant with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients; Bay Lake Provisions, an all-day marketplace with specialty coffees; and Paint Out Point Bar & Grill, the pool bar.
Rounding out the lineup is Dandelion Terrace, a lounge positioned for views of Magic Kingdom fireworks reflecting off Bay Lake after sunset. The space will house a two-story gallery of archival artwork from Disney classics including Fantasia.
