Disney Unveils Monsterous Details for 2027 Monsters, Inc. Land Expansion
Disney has given fans an unexpected look at its upcoming Monsters, Inc. land ahead of its 2027 debut at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
The latest preview reveals details about the Glob Theater, a key part of the expansion. The theater's exterior resembles a traditional movie theater but with a monstrous twist. Large chandeliers hang from the ceiling, and their design incorporates giant monster eyes, making it feel like a functioning Monstropolis theater.
Concept art also shows that the interior of the Glob Theater will feature movie posters with monster-themed twists on recognizable titles. One example is 'Silence of the Cribs', a parody of 'The Silence of the Lambs'. A concession area is also visible, which may serve as a preshow or waiting area.
The preview also shows off laugh canisters, which will likely be used throughout the land to reinforce the idea that laughter powers Monstropolis. These canisters feature a microphone attachment near the bottom, tying in with the movie's theme of using laughter to generate power.
