Disney Unveils New Attractions and Lands at D23 Fan Event

Disney announced several updates to its Walt Disney World parks at the recent D23 fan event. The Magic Kingdom will receive a 'Villains Land' and a 'Cars'-themed area, with attractions inspired by the Disney and Pixar franchises.

The Carousel of Progress is also undergoing refurbishment to introduce four new decades and a new scene featuring the first-ever Florida-based Walt Disney Audio-Animatronics figure in late spring 2027. The beloved matriarch and patriarch of the Carousel of Progress family, Sarah and John, will be voiced by Disney Legend Jamie Lee Curtis and award-winning actor Bryan Cranston.

In Animal Kingdom, Dinoland U.S.A. is being replaced with a 'Tropical Americas' land inspired by the myths and magic of the rainforests, rich cultures, and thrilling stories of South America, Central America, and Mexico. The new land will house three attractions: El Carrusel de los Animalitos, Antonio's Fiesta de Encanto, and Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent.

Additionally, Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain's iconic Yeti Audio-Animatronics figure is being brought back to life after nearly 20 years. Other updates include the return of Figment in a new adventure at EPCOT, and a reimagining of Spaceship Earth with a focus on human connection.
