Disney Unveils New Attractions and Lands at D23 Including Villains Land and Monstropolis

Walt Disney World is undergoing significant changes with new attractions and lands announced at D23. One of the most ambitious projects is Villains Land, a new land at Magic Kingdom that will feature two marquee attractions: a Maleficent-themed roller coaster and a dark ride inspired by the Magic Mirror.

Piston Peak, a Cars-themed land, will also be introduced at Magic Kingdom, with two new attractions including Cars Ridge Run Rally and Miss Fritter's Daredevil Spin-Along. Carousel of Progress is getting a major refresh with new scenes and characters, including Walt Disney Audio-Animatronics figures.

At Disney's Animal Kingdom, Tropical Americas will open in 2027 with new experiences, including Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent and Antonio's Fiesta de Encanto. Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain is getting a major upgrade with the return of the Yeti. Monstropolis, based on Monsters, Inc., will take over the old Muppet Courtyard at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
