Disney Unveils New Attractions and Lands at Walt Disney World
The D23 Ultimate Fan Event weekend has brought exciting updates for Walt Disney World. One of the most anticipated additions is Villains Land, a themed area coming to Magic Kingdom. According to Disney, the name was chosen to be consistent with the rest of the park.
Concept art revealed two new attractions within Villains Land: an exhilarating roller coaster that takes riders through Maleficent's stronghold and a dark ride featuring Magic Mirror from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. In this ride, guests will encounter iconic villain characters in the Mirror Realm.
Piston Peak also received more details, including concept art for Cars Ride Run Rally, which shows riders traversing a snow-covered mountaintop and returning through a geyser field. A second attraction, Miss Fritter's Daredevil Spin-Along, features a huge animatronic bus hosting a stampeding bash.
Other updates include the return of Dreamfinder to EPCOT's Imagination Pavilion in Journey Into Imagination With Figment and a reimagining of Spaceship Earth for the first time in two decades. Disney's Hollywood Studios will also get a new Monsters, Inc.-inspired area called Monstropolis, which is set to begin a phased opening in 2027.
Tropical Americas at Animal Kingdom got a name for its Encanto attraction: Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto. The Indiana Jones attraction has been renamed Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent and will feature an animatronic Harrison Ford and a large serpentine creature called the Tsukán.
Lastly, Expedition Everest will see the Yeti brought back to life as an animatronic at the end of the attraction.
