Disney Unveils Piston Peak Model with Off-Road Rally and Demolition Derby Rides
Walt Disney Imagineering unveiled its scale model for Piston Peak National Park at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 2026. This new Cars-themed addition to Frontierland at Magic Kingdom will replace the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island.
The view from Tiana's Bayou Adventure shows Liberty Square on the far side, past the snow-covered mountain. One attraction is an off-road rally race ride featuring vehicles with different personalities that drive mostly around the perimeter of Piston Peak.
In the queue for this ride, guests will meet Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore, a new original car character inspired by Ranger J. Audubon Woodlore from 1950s Disney cartoons.
The second attraction is themed to Miss Fritter, the fearsome demolition derby queen and school bus from the movie Cars 3. It's geared towards younger children and will be fun for the whole family.
