Disney Unveils Villains Land Story, Roller Coaster, and Dark Ride Details at D23 Expo

Walt Disney World has finally revealed the story behind Villains Land at Magic Kingdom, along with details about its two headlining attractions, Maleficent roller coaster and Magic Mirror dark ride. The land's theme is centered around a twisted Wishing Well, where visitors will enter a foreboding dark forest and encounter their favorite Disney villains in new and sophisticated ways.

The Imagineers have emphasized that Villains Land will be massive, comparable to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, with shops, restaurants, and areas for villainous fun. The land's architecture will reflect the style and personality of each villain, while they themselves have been updated with sleek new looks that exude sophistication.

The Maleficent roller coaster will take riders through enchanted briar surrounding her mountaintop fortress, featuring elements never before attempted on similar attractions. Meanwhile, the Magic Mirror dark ride will transport visitors into a mystical realm where Disney villains come to life in magical ways.
