Disney Upgrades EPCOT's Germany Pavilion Amid Ongoing Refurbishments
Disney's EPCOT theme park is undergoing refurbishments, including a significant upgrade to the Germany Pavilion. The pavilion's roofing has been replaced with new red-and-brown diamond-pattern shingles, addressing issues of rot and damage that were visible before the renovation. This refresh is part of ongoing efforts to preserve the unique atmosphere of each World Showcase pavilion.
While the new roofing is a notable change, EPCOT visitors are also encountering closures in various areas. The Stein Haus has been under exterior refurbishment since late June, with crews installing rolling planters and beige scrim walls around the area. Additionally, the Germany Pavilion restrooms have remained closed since mid-July due to ongoing construction.
Looking ahead, Disney is planning more substantial changes for EPCOT's classic attractions. Spaceship Earth, a defining feature of the park since 1982, will undergo a major overhaul. The exact timeline for this project has not been announced. Furthermore, Dreamfinder, a character from the original Journey Into Imagination attraction, is set to return alongside Figment in an updated version of the ride.
