Disney Widens Office Mandate to More Remote Tech Employees
Disney is expanding its office mandate to more of its remote technology employees as part of its 'One Disney' strategy, which aims to connect teams and operations across the organization.
The entertainment company is requiring these employees to work from a company office four days each week, bringing them into line with an attendance policy already covering much of Disney's workforce.
This change affects some technology teams that had previously been permitted to operate remotely or with greater flexibility. Employees who don't comply with the in-person attendance requirements can ultimately face termination, although the policy has reportedly not been enforced consistently across the business.
The renewed focus on office attendance comes as CEO Josh D'Amaro approaches six months in Disney's top job. The company has also continued to reshape its workforce through layoffs and restructuring efforts, including a significant round of job losses at ESPN in July.
