Disney World Announces Historic Hiring Spree Amid Multi-Billion-Dollar Expansion Plans
Walt Disney World is gearing up for its most ambitious expansion in history, and thousands of new career opportunities are coming along for the ride. According to a recent announcement, the resort plans to add over 5,000 new jobs within the next five years.
This massive hiring initiative is part of Disney's multi-billion-dollar capital investment program, which aims to transform its Central Florida resort with groundbreaking new lands, state-of-the-art attractions, and expanded guest experiences. The company currently employs around 80,000 Cast Members, making it the largest single-site employer in the United States.
The new positions will span a wide range of career levels, from entry-level park operations and food-and-beverage roles to high-tech software engineering, project management, and creative design within Walt Disney Imagineering. The resort's costuming department alone houses approximately 2.5 million garments in active circulation, with Cast Members receiving training in garment care, character fitting, tailoring, and costume distribution systems.
Disney's investment in employee growth is accompanied by strong reported retention, with an impressive 4 out of 5 Cast Members (80%) choosing to remain with the company long-term. The resort offers competitive benefits, tuition assistance programs, union-represented roles, and internal promotion opportunities to its employees.
