Disney World Cast Members Trained in 'Magic' Through Disney University
Ryan Pragano has been working at Walt Disney World for over 13 years. He's not a magician, but he may as well be since he works at the Most Magical Place on Earth.
As a guest experiences manager, he helps create magical moments for park-goers every day.
The resort employs around 80,000 cast members, with many starting in hourly roles that pay between $19 to $23 per hour.
New employees undergo training at Disney University, where they learn the company's five keys: safety, courtesy, inclusion, show, and efficiency. They also receive role-specific training to develop skills and gain confidence before interacting with guests.
Disney University offers professional development and leadership training for those who want to advance their careers within the company. Pragano has taken advantage of these opportunities and is now over halfway to earning a master's degree, which is covered by the company.
