Disney World Celebrates 55 Years of Magic with Record-Breaking Expansion

Walt Disney World Resort is celebrating its 55th anniversary, and it's been an incredible five years since the resort celebrated its 50th milestone. In that time, the resort has added nearly a theme park's worth of experiences, with over 70 new or refreshed attractions since 2021.

One of the standout features of Walt Disney World is its ability to constantly evolve and improve. From the addition of new nighttime spectaculars like 'Luminous The Symphony of Us' (2023) and 'Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away' (2025), to the massive transformation of EPCOT, which has brought all-new experiences for guests to discover.

The resort has also seen significant upgrades in its theme park offerings, including new thrill rides like TRON Lightcycle / Run Presented by Enterprise (2023) and Tiana's Bayou Adventure (2024). Additionally, the resort has added new immersive experiences, such as Round Up Rodeo BBQ (2023), which allows guests to feel like they're a toy in a Wild West setting.

With over 18,000 refreshed rooms across its 10 Resort hotels since 2021, Walt Disney World is committed to providing the ultimate guest experience. And with new projects on the horizon, including Carousel of Progress, Piston Peak National Park and Villains Land at Magic Kingdom, Monstropolis at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Tropical Americas at Disney's Animal Kingdom, there's plenty more growth to come.
