Disney World ends Annual Pass discount on bottled beverages
Walt Disney World Annual Passholders are facing another adjustment to their benefits, this time losing a longstanding discount on bottled beverages. Effective October 6, Passholders can no longer apply their 20% merchandise discount to purchases of bottled water, soda, and other bottled drinks at Disney-owned retail locations. This change follows recent Annual Pass price increases, making it more costly for frequent visitors to maintain access to the theme parks.
The bottled beverage discount had been a little-known perk among Passholders, allowing them to save money on routine expenses. While the savings on a single bottle may seem minor, the discount added up for those who visited regularly, especially during hot months when multiple drinks were purchased per day. The benefit had been available for years, shared through word of mouth among frequent visitors.
Disney World regularly adjusts its pricing and benefits, but this change comes at a notable time as Passholders are already paying higher renewal costs. The removal of the discount, though small, further reduces the value of Annual Passes, which are designed for guests who visit frequently. While not every Passholder knew about the beverage discount, those who did will now pay full price for bottled drinks at Disney-owned stores.
The broader merchandise discount remains in place, but the specific application to bottled beverages has been discontinued. This marks another small but noticeable change for Annual Passholders, who will need to account for the full cost of drinks during their visits.
