Disney World Prepares for Record-Breaking Thanksgiving Crowds and Prices
Walt Disney World is approaching the 2026 holiday season from a position of financial strength, thanks to its Experiences segment posting record revenue despite modest attendance growth at domestic parks. The company's global guest counts rose 4% year-over-year in the fiscal third quarter, with strong performance at Walt Disney World itself.
Disney's dynamic pricing model means costs climb during high-demand periods, and Thanksgiving is firmly in that category. Magic Kingdom's Lightning Lane Premier Pass has already reached $449 per person on select 2026 dates, a $20 increase over last year's rate. Individual Lightning Lane Single Pass attractions may follow a similar trend.
The company has extended holiday-week hours before, but the three confirmed early closures at Magic Kingdom for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party are locked in. Guests should track both park hours and Lightning Lane pricing as the date approaches to avoid unexpected surprises.
