Disney World Reveals Three New Holiday Ride Overlays for 2026

Walt Disney World has announced three new holiday overlays for popular rides during the 2026 season. For the first time, two major roller coasters will transform into festive versions, offering guests unique seasonal experiences.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT will become Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Holiday Remix. From November 25, 2026, through January 6, 2027, riders will hear holiday-themed songs like “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and “Christmas Wrapping” instead of the usual throwback hits. The ride’s regular soundtrack will resume on January 7.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, which debuted in May 2026, will introduce its first holiday overlay. Known as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay, this version will feature a new storyline and holiday music, including covers by The Electric Mayhem and Cyndi Lauper. The overlay will run from November 4, 2026, through January 6, 2027.

Alien Swirling Saucers: Lilypad’s Jams in Toy Story Land will also get a holiday makeover, playing festive tunes like “Toyland” and “Deck the Halls” during the same period. The regular soundtrack will likely be paused for the holiday overlay.
