Disney World to Close Four Attractions in October for Refurbishment
Disney World is undergoing significant changes in its theme parks, including updates to attractions and refurbishments. One notable example is Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress, which has been closed for refurbishment since July and will continue to be closed through 2027. The show is receiving an update with new scenes from the 1960s, 1980s, and a possible future.
Additionally, the pre-show will feature a Walt Disney Audio Animatronic and voice actors Bryan Cranston and Jamie Lee Curtis as Father and Mother, respectively. The updated attraction is set to reopen in late spring 2027.
The Walt Disney World Railroad will be closed for routine maintenance from most of October. Although the My Disney Experience app indicates it may reopen in November 2026, the attraction has listed hours starting on October 30th.
Blizzard Beach Water Park's Slush Gusher slide will be closed for refurbishment in September, while Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will be closed throughout October and following months. No reopening date has been announced for Typhoon Lagoon.
