Disney World Unveils Disney University Training Facility
Walt Disney World has opened its doors to give an inside look at Disney University, where all 80,000 cast members undergo training and orientation. The facility is the primary location for new hires to begin their employment.
The journey starts in the Traditions room, where workers are immersed in Disney history and learn about company culture and core values. From there, they progress to job-specific training that covers a wide range of operational roles across the resort.
Housekeepers receive instruction on preparing beds according to Disney's high standards, while concierge staff participate in hands-on practice scenarios. The resort also has a specialized costuming operation, which is the largest functional wardrobe in the world.
The hiring process at Walt Disney World is highly competitive, with over 300 job applications submitted daily. Many employees begin as hourly workers but have opportunities to build long-term careers within the company. In fact, the resort plans to create 5,000 new positions over the next five years.
