Disney World Weather Forecast: Storms Ahead for Orlando Theme Parks
Walt Disney World visitors are in for a stormy stretch of weather as a persistent wet pattern brings lightning, gusty winds, and periods of heavy rain to Central Florida. According to the National Weather Service's Melbourne office, scattered to numerous showers with embedded lightning are expected on Thursday, with locally heavy rainfall being the primary hazard.
The NWS puts Thursday's rain chance at 70%, with another 70% chance on Friday. The disruption risk may not disappear after one afternoon, as local forecasts indicate the warm, stormy pattern will continue into the weekend, with wetter conditions becoming more established as a cold front approaches Central Florida early next week.
Disney advises guests to prepare for Central Florida's climate and monitor its official weather-update page during acute weather. The company notes that severe weather can cause some resort experiences to be delayed, rescheduled or canceled.
