Disney World's 2027 Overhaul: Tropical Americas, Monstropolis, and More
Walt Disney World is undergoing a massive transformation, and 2027 promises to be one of its biggest years yet. Several projects announced at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 2026 are set to come to life in 2027.
Tropical Americas, an 11-acre land at Disney's Animal Kingdom, will replace the closed DinoLand U.S.A. It draws inspiration from a vast region spanning northern South America, Central America, and parts of Mexico. The new land features Pueblo Esperanza, a fictional town designed to feel lived-in like Harambe and Anandapur.
Two major attractions are coming to Tropical Americas: Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent and Antonio's Fiesta de Encanto. The first is an adventure into an ancient Maya temple where Indy searches for a legendary creature, while the second lets guests join the Madrigal family for a celebration at Casita.
Additionally, families can ride El Carrusel de los Animalitos, a carousel featuring hand-carved animals inspired by Disney characters. A new play area and large hacienda serving as one of Walt Disney World's largest quick-service restaurants will also be part of the land.
