Disney World's Big Changes: MNSSHP Sells Out Dates, Leadership Shifts

Disney World's summer season is heating up as Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) approaches its opening night on August 7. This year, a record number of dates have already sold out, with eight nights now off-limits due to high demand.

The event will feature new entertainment options, including a Stitch dance party and pirate-themed shows with Captain Jack Sparrow in Adventureland. The park's decorations are also getting an early start this year, with fall and Halloween elements expected to go up within the next week.

Changes are coming to the resort's leadership as well, with Joe Schott taking over as president on August 6, replacing Jeff Vahle after his 36-year tenure. Vahle marked his departure by reflecting on a career that included opening Disney's Animal Kingdom and helping build Shanghai Disney Resort.

Other developments include the soft opening of Six Ravens, a new hand pie shop at Disney Springs, and the launch of a limited-edition merchandise line from Gideon's Bakehouse. The popular bakery is also introducing its Peanut Butter Cold Brew cookie for August's monthly flavor.
