Disney World's Iconic 'It's a Small World' Clock Breaks Down
The iconic 'it's a small world' attraction at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom has been experiencing some technical difficulties. The famous clock outside the ride, which is one of the most recognizable pieces of the attraction, has stopped working.
According to a Cast Member, replacement parts have been ordered but won't arrive for about three weeks. This means that the clock could remain broken well into October.
The clock's malfunction may not seem like a major issue at first glance, but it plays an important role in the attraction's personality. The elaborate clock is built into the colorful façade of 'it's a small world' and serves as part of the ride's presentation. It normally moves from side to side while flowers and gears surrounding it spin, and every 15 minutes, it puts on a miniature performance.
The malfunction has been ongoing since at least September 22, and guests visiting Magic Kingdom during late September or early October may not get to see the clock in action. However, the ride itself can still operate normally, with boats floating through the attraction and guests hearing the catchy song 'it's a small world after all'.
