Disney World's Latest Closures: What's Gone and What's Coming

Disney World has seen several permanent closures in 2026, including iconic attractions and eateries. One of the most significant losses is DinoLand U.S.A., a themed land within Disney's Animal Kingdom that closed on February 2nd, 2026. This move makes way for the new Pueblo Esperanza, which will open next year featuring Indiana Jones and Encanto-inspired attractions.

The DINOSAUR ride, one of the last remaining holdouts in DinoLand U.S.A., officially closed on February 1st, 2026. Another casualty is Restaurantosaurus, a quick service spot that shut its doors on the same day as the land's closure. In Disney's Hollywood Studios, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith permanently closed on March 2nd, 2026, to be rethemed as Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.

In Disney Springs, several eateries and stores have closed their doors, including Sprinkles Cupcakes, Francesca's boutique store, Shore clothing company, Johnston & Murphy business professional brand, and the Disney Springs Food Trucks. Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom also closed on July 6th, 2026, for a major overhaul that is expected to last until late spring 2027.
