Disneyland Brings Pin Trading Machines to Parks
Disneyland has introduced a new way for fans to engage with its popular pin trading program. The theme park has installed vending machines in various locations that dispense exclusive Disney pins, allowing guests to purchase them without having to trade with cast members or other visitors.
The pin vending machines are located at Bing Bong's in Pixar Pier and San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure, as well as at Disney's Pin Traders at Downtown Disney. Each machine contains a selection of pins featuring various Disney characters, packaged in spheres similar to baseballs.
Guests can purchase the pins for $18 each, without knowing which character they will receive until they open their sphere. The pins are part of a limited collection and have a small marking on the back indicating whether they are rare or not. If a pin has a blue marking, it is considered a chaser pin and is less common than the others.
This new method follows changes to the pin trading program implemented earlier this year, which aimed to prevent line-skipping during popular new pin releases at Disneyland.
