Disneyland Paris Begins Removing Space Mountain Theming Ahead of 2027 Overhaul
Disneyland Paris Resort has begun removing some exterior theming from Space Mountain ahead of its major reimagining, which is scheduled to begin in late 2027. The overhaul will bring back the original Space Mountain theming and restore the attraction's beloved storyline.
The changes are part of a larger project to revive the original Space Mountain theming at Disneyland Paris, as announced by Walt Disney Imagineering at D23 Expo 2026. The reimagined roller coaster will include extensive technical work, maintenance upgrades, indoor sets, props, and new special effects.
Disneyland Paris Resort has not confirmed whether the removed theming was related to the upcoming closure of Hyperspace Mountain in 2027 or for another reason. However, it is clear that the resort is gearing up for a significant transformation of the Discoveryland attraction.
