Disneyland Tears Down Ticket Booths for Pedestrian Bridge in $1.9 Billion Expansion
Disneyland is making way for its massive $1.9 billion expansion plan, DisneylandForward. As part of this project, four ticket booths will be demolished to make room for a new pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard. The construction work has already begun and will affect the esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
The new pedestrian bridge is designed to connect the existing bus drop off/pick up area on the west side of Harbor Boulevard with the Manchester employee parking lot on the east side, which backs up to the I-5 Freeway. This will also be linked to a new eastside parking structure and transportation hub.
The demolition is just one of several steps Disneyland is taking to prepare for its future expansions. The theme park has filed permits with the city of Anaheim to remove the foundations of the ticket booths and cap utilities, according to Theme Park IQ.
