Disneyland’s Stark Flight Lab Ride to Debut in 2028 with Marvel Stars
Disneyland Resort is gearing up for a major addition to its Avengers Campus with the debut of the Stark Flight Lab in 2028. This new thrill ride will feature Iron Man, Captain America, and Captain Marvel as flight instructors, guiding riders through an intense Avengers training exercise. The attraction will combine two ride systems in a first-of-its-kind experience, using gyro-kinetic pods atop a chassis transport system and Kuka RoboCoaster motion simulator robot arms to simulate high-speed aerial maneuvers.
The Stark Flight Lab will be set inside Tony Stark’s workshop, where riders will be briefed by the Marvel heroes before being loaded into their pods for a test flight. Unlike traditional Disney rides, the technology behind the attraction will be highly visible, with the robotic tech playing a central role in the experience. The ride will debut alongside the new Avengers Infinity Defense dark ride as part of an expansion that will double the size of the Marvel-themed land at Disney California Adventure.
Walt Disney Imagineering unveiled a scale model of the twin-seat ride vehicles at the D23 fan convention in August 2026. Imagineering Chief Creative Officer Bruce Vaughn highlighted the innovation of the ride, stating, 'Nothing like this has ever been done before in a theme park.' The attraction will feature a train of 12 cars, each with two seats, and will celebrate the technology behind the ride rather than hiding it.
Marvel stars Robert Downey Jr., Anthony Mackie, and Brie Larson will reprise their roles as Iron Man, Captain America, and Captain Marvel, respectively, for the Stark Flight Lab attraction. The ride is set to offer a unique blend of storytelling and cutting-edge technology, promising an unforgettable experience for visitors.
