Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Renovates Kidani Village Lobby
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge at Walt Disney World has begun refurbishment work on its Kidani Village lobby. The main lobby has been closed since August 17, with check-in temporarily relocated to the Palace Library.
The refurbishment is taking place in phases, with different areas closing for varying periods of time between mid-August and November 2026. The current phase involves stripping parts of the ceiling, revealing the wood structure underneath after removing the straw-like material that was part of the resort's African kraal theme.
A single crew member was spotted working on the ceiling using a green boom lift during a recent visit. The refurbishment is expected to be completed in phases, with some areas reopening before others. Guests may experience construction noise and activity during daytime hours.
