Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Extends Refurbishment Closure Into Early 2027
Walt Disney World has announced that its BoardWalk Inn will undergo an extended refurbishment, impacting guests planning vacations for early 2027. The resort, known for its prime location near EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, will see select areas undergo general refurbishment that was initially set to conclude by late 2026. However, the project has been extended into early 2027.
The most significant disruption begins on January 11, 2027, when the Luna Park Pool, the Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and the Leaping Horses Libations will close for routine maintenance. These closures are expected to last through April, affecting guests who visit during the winter and spring months. While the resort will remain open, the lack of access to these primary recreation areas may deter families who rely on resort amenities for relaxation and entertainment.
The BoardWalk Inn’s convenient access to major theme parks has long been one of its biggest selling points. However, the extended refurbishment could make it less appealing to guests who prioritize on-site amenities, particularly those planning longer stays with breaks between park visits. The closure of the feature pool could be a decisive factor for some families when choosing their resort.
This isn’t the only Disney resort facing delays. At Disney’s Old Key West Resort, the refurbishment of the Hospitality House has also been pushed back, originally scheduled to finish in mid-September but now expected to wrap up later this fall. These changes highlight how Disney’s refurbishment schedules can shift, prompting guests to stay flexible when planning their stays.
