Disney's BoardWalk Overhauls with Closures and New Additions
Disney's BoardWalk is undergoing significant changes as it prepares to bid farewell to long-time tenants and welcome new establishments. One of the most notable closures will be Atlantic Dance Hall, an adults-only venue that has been a staple on the BoardWalk since its opening in 1996.
The dance hall will cease its weekend operations to the general public on September 25-27, 2026, marking the end of an era for this beloved spot. However, Atlantic Dance Hall's closure will coincide with the grand opening of a new venue just a few feet away - Hurly-Burly.
Hurly-Burly will serve as both a family-friendly trivia venue by day and an adults-only lounge at night, featuring live music and an all-day menu of specialty drinks and light bites. The concept art for the establishment hints at its rich history, with Walt Disney Imagineers having created a fictional backstory that Hurly-Burly was once a thriving theater nearly a century ago.
Another new addition to the BoardWalk will be Basin on the BoardWalk, a store selling salts, bath bombs, body butters, lip salves, shampoo, and conditioner bars. Guests will also have the opportunity to personalize their items with embossing services or create custom bath teas or soap.
The changes at Disney's BoardWalk are part of a larger transformation taking place across Walt Disney World, with new food options and seasonal parties already underway. As the holiday season approaches, visitors can expect even more exciting developments to emerge.
