Disney's Carousel of Progress Gets Major Overhaul with New Scenes and Animatronic
Disney has announced significant changes to its Carousel of Progress attraction at Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland. The updates will bring new scenes, including ones set in the 1960s, 1980s, and a possible future.
Bob Gurr, one of the original Disney Imagineers hired by Walt Disney himself in 1954, is working on the revamped attraction. Gurr has also introduced new ideas, such as Rover, the family's friendly dog, potentially picking a random guest to growl at in each scene.
The new changes aim to be as accurate as possible, with furniture from each era being recreated. An introductory scene featuring Disney World's first Walt Disney animatronic is also part of the updates. Voice talents Bryan Cranston and Jamie Lee Curtis will play Father and Mother respectively.
