Disney's D23 Snub: Fans Left Waiting for Hotel Updates
Disney recently wrapped up its D23 event, where fans eagerly awaited updates on new park developments. However, one major announcement was noticeably absent, hotel news.
The company's BoardWalk Resort saw significant renovations, including a new dining and entertainment venue called Hurly-Burly, set to open in late 2026. But amidst the excitement over new rides and lands, fans were left waiting for updates on Disney hotels.
Lakeshore Lodge, a nature-themed DVC resort under construction near Fort Wilderness, has been a topic of interest among fans. Despite an earlier confirmation that it's targeting a summer 2027 opening, no official date was announced at D23. Meanwhile, the Contemporary Resort is still undergoing renovations, which began in September 2024 and are expected to wrap up by late 2027.
The lack of hotel updates has left many fans with unanswered questions, particularly regarding a new value or moderate resort at Walt Disney World, which hasn't seen a new build in over 14 years. Additionally, the Enchanted Star Hotel at Shanghai Disney Resort still lacks an exact opening date, despite being confirmed for winter 2027.
