Disney's Epic Overhaul: New Attractions and Renovations Unveiled for Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World has announced several new attractions and renovations across its four theme parks. At Magic Kingdom, Piston Peak National Park is being built to replace Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and Liberty Square Riverboat. The new land will feature two rides: Miss Fritter's Daredevil Spin-Along and Cars Ridge Run Rally. Disney also revealed the official name for this area as Villains Land.

The Carousel of Progress is undergoing a major renovation after closing last month. It will reopen in Spring 2027 with Jamie Lee Curtis and Bryan Cranston providing new voices for the mother and father in the ride. In Animal Kingdom, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent is opening to replace DINOSAUR.

Disney's Hollywood Studios will feature Monstropolis next year, bringing the world of Monsters, Inc. to the park with a theatre show, restaurant, quick-service food, gift shop, and Monsters University Alumni Club. At EPCOT, Spaceship Earth is undergoing renovations for the first time in nearly 20 years, shifting its focus from human communication to human connection.
