Veteran Pilot Michael S. Dancisin Passes Away at Age 88

Michael S. Dancisin, an 88-year-old veteran and private pilot from Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 14, 2026, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Dancisin was born on March 15, 1938, in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh to Michael and Mary Kocsis Dancisin. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the U.S. Navy Drill Team.

After his time in the Navy, Dancisin worked as a general foreman at Allied Signal Company, where he previously held positions at Pullman Standard and Honeywell.

A dedicated member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora, Dancisin served as Cantor and was also an active member of several other organizations, including the Butler County Pilots Association and the Experimental Aircraft Association.
