The Disney World's Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) has announced its new Cast Member costumes, and fans are not pleased. The event, which runs from August 7 to October 31, features a special parade, fireworks, and character meet-and-greets, but the new costumes have sparked controversy among annual attendees.

The new costumes feature a short-sleeved black shirt with stacked skeletons in shades of red, purple, and green. There are two styles: Look A pairs the untucked button-down with dark green shorts, while Look B features the same patterned shirt tucked into dark green long pants. Neither design offers a dress option for women.

The old costumes were iconic and eye-catching, featuring yellow-and-orange plaid layers over green-and-yellow striped bat shirts with purple skirts or trousers, and oversized bat headbands or bow ties. Fans are upset that the new designs are darker and more subdued, and lack the whimsy of their predecessors.
