Disney's Harryhausen's Restaurant Brings Monsters, Inc. to Life
Disney's Monstropolis is taking shape at Hollywood Studios, and one of its most anticipated features is Harryhausen's, an upscale Japanese-influenced restaurant inspired by the movie 'Monsters, Inc.'
The restaurant will offer a menu unlike anything else at Walt Disney World, according to Disney. While details about the menu are scarce, concept art depicts a multi-tentacled sushi chef preparing food at the sushi counter.
The Audio-Animatronics figure is expected to be a showstopper in itself, bringing to life a character that fans of the movie will recognize from Mike Wazowski's romantic dinner with Celia. The restaurant was named after Ray Harryhausen, a visual-effects pioneer known for his work on 'Jason and the Argonauts' and 'Clash of the Titans.'
Hurryhausen's is part of the initial opening phase of Monstropolis in 2027, which will also include Archie's Scare Pig Pizza and other attractions.
