Disney's Hollywood Studios Unveils Monstropolis Theater Facelift
The transformation of the former MuppetVision 3D theater at Disney's Hollywood Studios is nearing completion. Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a new Notice of Commencement for the Glob Theater, with SPI (Sign Producers Inc.) listed as the contractor and a scope of 'install signage.'
With the facade exposed, mounting points for signage are visible on the brickwork, positioned and ready for panels to go up. This is the latest in a long list of permits filed for the building's transformation.
The Glob Theater will house 'Welcome to Monstropolis,' the new show hosted by Mike and Sulley, featuring an original song written by Disney Legend Randy Newman. Disney confirmed at D23 that the show, along with other parts of Monstropolis, will open to guests in 2027.
